Technical Associate

Location-Kigali, Rwanda

MeshPower is an exciting start­up from the UK, dedicated to bringing electricity services to rural communities living off­grid. We use smart, internet connected solar micro­grids to supply services ranging from lighting and phone charging, to TVs and more. We are scaling up our presence in Rwanda and need driven individuals to join and shape our Rwandan operations team.

Responsibilities

Organising the engineering office. This includes:


  • Prioritising technical problems and arranging suitable technical visits.

  • Working as part of the Engineering teams.

  • Keeping up to date and precise logs of site visits and system faults.

  • Organising product launches and field tests.

  • Compile technical reports and maintain good communication with the global headquarters.

  • Assist with the technical supervision of business model experiments.

    • Required skills


  • Highly proficient in both verbal and written English.

  • Good typing speed and high competency with word processing and spreadsheet programs (familiarity with Google's suite of online office products is a plus).

  • Organised and conscientious.

  • University graduate with a technical background.

  • Experience with using the Linux operating system (ideally it should be the applicant's primary OS of choice).

  • Knowledge of IT networking tools.

  • Experience with the python programming language.

  • Sense of humour

  • The salary will be competitive and commensurate with the applicant’s level of experience.
